Enterprise to construct new natural gas processing plant in Delaware Basin, Texas

This new facility will have the capacity to process more than 300 million cubic feet per day (mcf/d) of natural gas and extract more than 40,000 barrels per day (bpd) of natural gas liquids (NGLs).

Enterprise Products Partners is set to enhance its natural gas processing operations in the Permian Basin by constructing the Mentone West 2 plant in the Delaware Basin, Texas.

To be located in Loving County, this new facility will have the capacity to process more than 300mcf/d of natural gas and extract more than 40,000bpd of NGLs.

The Mentone West 2 plant is expected to commence operations in Q2 2026.

This expansion comes as Enterprise has initiated service at its Mentone 3 plant, which boasts similar processing and extraction capabilities.

Furthermore, the Mentone West 1 plant, previously known as Mentone 4, is progressing on schedule with an expected service start in the latter half of 2025, the company said.

Upon completion of these projects, Enterprise's capacity in the Delaware Basin will surge to more than 2.8 billion cubic feet per day (bcf/d) of natural gas processing and over 370,000bpd of NGL extraction.

Furthermore, the company announced that its Leonidas plant in the Midland Basin has recently started operations.

The Orion facility is also advancing as planned, with service projected to begin in the second half of 2025, the company added.

Each of these plants is designed to process in excess of 300mcf/d of natural gas and extract more than 40,000bpd of NGLs.

The Orion plant's completion will boost Enterprise's processing capacity to 1.9bcf/d and NGL extraction to more than 270,000bpd.

These plants in both the Delaware and Midland Basins are underpinned by long-term producer dedications and minimum volume commitments.

A.J. Teague, co-chief executive officer of Enterprise’s general partner, said: “The Permian Basin is expected to account for more than 90% of domestic NGL production by the end of the decade as producers and oilfield service companies continue to push the envelope and develop new and more efficient techniques in one of the world’s most prolific energy basins.

“With the expansion of our natural gas processing network, Enterprise is facilitating this growth and providing safe and reliable access to domestic and international markets.”
