Oil and gas major BP and Subsea Integration Alliance have formed a partnership to enhance the performance of subsea projects.

The Alliance comprises offshore services provider Subsea7 and SLB’s OneSubsea, which is focused on subsea technologies, production and processing systems.

The partnership will bring together bp’s experience in framing, building and project execution with the Alliance’s know-how of delivering subsea umbilical, riser and flowline (SURF) systems and subsea production systems (SPS).

The team will collaborate across the entire field life cycle, from ideation to delivery of the project, to support new modes of operation and novel business models.

A new team will be assembled to oversee and manage programme operations with an emphasis on safety, quality and subsea project performance.

BP SVP of projects Ewan Drummond said: “The members of Subsea Integration Alliance have been a key supplier of bp for decades and by combining our resources and knowledge, we can bring significant benefits to our customers and our stakeholders.

“Together, we can safely deliver projects with improved project schedules, reducing our total cost of ownership and harnessing synergies through a collaborative, one-team mindset. We look forward to getting to work.”

Subsea Integration Alliance CEO Olivier Blaringhem said: “This agreement marks a step change in how our highly collaborative teams will work together to achieve shared objectives for mutual value.

“Together with bp, we will deliver lower-carbon energy to the world through enhancing long-term subsea performance.”

Last week, bp and the Shell consortium signed an agreement to explore hydrocarbons offshore in Trinidad and Tobago.

The agreement, which covers the 25a, 25b and 27 deepwater blocks, is expected to help the Caribbean nation accelerate offshore exploration and production.
