Bilfinger has secured a new three-year contract with INEOS FPS to provide maintenance services for the Forties Pipeline System (FPS) in Scotland.

Effective from January 2024, the contract includes options to extend for an additional two years.

Bilfinger said the agreement continues a partnership spanning more than a decade and aims to ensure the reliability and longevity of the FPS, which is essential for transporting and processing North Sea oil and gas.

Under the contract, Bilfinger’s maintenance, insulation, scaffolding and corrosion protection business units will be responsible for delivering access, insulation, coating and fireproofing services.

These efforts will support both onshore and offshore facilities of the 169km pipeline system.

Commissioned in 1975, the FPS is an integrated oil and gas liquid transportation and processing system with capacity of more than 600,000 barrels per day.

It is intended to serve the central area of the North Sea in both the UK and Norway.
