Baker Hughes has secured a contract from Petrobras to provide integrated solutions for workover and plug and abandonment (P&A) services in Brazilian offshore fields.
Petrobras will utilise Baker Hughes' comprehensive suite of technologies and services to enhance performance across its pre-salt and post-salt offshore fields.
The multi-year project, set to commence in the first half of 2025, will be managed with Baker Hughes’ integrated solutions portfolio to optimise Petrobras’ performance.
The contract encompasses a wide range of services including cementing, coiled tubing, fishing, geosciences, tubular running, wellbore intervention and wireline in all of Petrobras’ oil and gas fields.
Additionally, the agreement includes the provision of remedial tools, completion fluids and production chemicals.
To facilitate this project and contribute to the development of Latin America's energy sector, Baker Hughes is set to expand its facilities in Macaé, Rio de Janeiro.
Baker Hughes oilfield services & equipment executive vice-president Maria Claudia Borras said: "Baker Hughes brings to this important project a comprehensive technology portfolio, a deep understanding of localisation and a rich history of working in Brazil.
“Flawlessly integrating these capabilities will be essential to the success of the project. Our expertise in integrated solutions is the foundation for efficiently taking energy forward in Brazil.”
Earlier this year, Petrobras awarded a contract to Baker Hughes to provide integrated well construction services for the Buzios field offshore Brazil.
The integrated services project comprises a comprehensive suite of services including cementing, drill bits, drilling, fishing, fluids, geosciences, remedial tools, services, wellbore clean-up and wireline.
