Norwegian engineering company Aker Solutions has agreed to extend a frame agreement with Aker BP pertaining to subsea production systems.

The agreement, which was initially signed in June 2016, has been extended until 31 December 2028.

The scope of the agreement could include assistance to Aker BP by Aker Solutions for feasibility studies and concept developments; front-end engineering and design; and subsea development projects and services during project execution including engineering, procurement and construction.

Aker Solutions expects the extension to further support its commitments to the Subsea Alliance, an agreement for project execution with Subsea 7 and Aker BP. The alliance allows operator and contractors to work as one integrated team towards cost-effective solutions for developing the company's subsea field portfolio.

Aker Solutions subsea business executive vice-president and head Maria Peralta said: "The extension of the frame agreement underscores our long-standing strategic partnership with Aker BP and is important to ensure long-term activity levels on the Norwegian continental shelf.”

Recently, Aker Solutions was selected by ExxonMobil to deliver three dynamic and seven static umbilicals totalling 52km for the Uaru project in the Stabroek Block offshore Guyana.

Project execution, engineering and manufacturing will take place in Mobile, Alabama, US, with delivery planned for the first quarter of 2026. The Uaru field is expected to add around 250,000 barrels of oil per day after its targeted start-up in 2026.
