Aker Solutions has secured a long-term frame agreement with Azule Energy to provide engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for brownfield projects and modifications for two FPSO units in Angola.
The agreement focuses on the Greater Plutonio and PSVM FPSOs, encompassing EPC for maintenance and modifications.
The three-year contract, which includes the possibility for two additional one-year renewals, is a continuation of the two companies' present framework agreement.
Azule Energy is a joint venture owned by Eni and BP.
Aker Solutions plans to manage contract execution and delivery through its teams in Luanda, Angola, and Aberdeen in the UK.
The company said that the project management will be based in Angola.
Aker Solutions Life Cycle executive vice-president and head Paal Eikeseth said: “This new contract strengthens our global life cycle operations and is a pivotal project for our offices in Aberdeen and Luanda.
“We are actively recruiting to enhance the strength and competence of our existing project team. Moving forward, our local business development efforts will focus on improving and strengthening relationships with local subcontractors, as well as hiring and training local personnel.”
In April 2024, Aker Solutions secured a contract from Equinor to enhance the wastewater treatment facilities at the Mongstad refiner, located 70km north of Bergen in Norway.
The contract involves EPC, installation and commissioning services.
The facility’s wastewater treatment plant is equipped to process water from various sources including the refinery, offsite locations and the adjoining oil terminal.
