Australian energy major Woodside has entered into a sale and purchase agreement (SPA) with CPC Corporation, Taiwan’s state-owned oil and gas company, for the supply of LNG over the next decade.
Starting in July 2024, Woodside will deliver approximately 6mt of LNG to Taiwan on a delivered basis.
The agreement also includes a potential extension for an additional ten years, spanning from 2034 to 2043, which would involve the supply of approximately 8.4mt of LNG, subject to conditions and finalising terms for this period.
The LNG will be sourced from Woodside’s global portfolio, marking the company’s inaugural long-term sales contract with Taiwan.
Woodside CEO Meg O’Neil said: “This agreement with CPC for long-term supply to Taiwan is a first for Woodside and another demonstration of the ongoing demand for Australian LNG in Asian markets. It also reinforces the value our customers place on Woodside’s ability to maintain safe and reliable supply of energy into the 2030s.”
In a separate development, Woodside has awarded a contract to Corinth Pipeworks for the manufacture and supply of roughly 118km of high frequency welded steel pipes.
