Vision RNG, a company specialising in RNG production, has secured a $207m investment from HASI, an investor in climate solutions.
The investment will facilitate the construction of facilities designed to convert landfill gas to RNG at Ohio landfills operated by WIN Waste Innovations, a sustainable waste and recycling service provider.
HASI’s financing package includes $130m for the construction facility and $77m for an investment tax credit bridge loan.
This funding is expected to accelerate Vision RNG’s growth strategy, focusing on sustainable energy development and carbon emission reduction.
Vision RNG chief financial officer Kevin Johnson said: “Our partnership with HASI is a major milestone for Vision RNG. This funding enables us to continue moving forward with our ambitious plans to produce more renewable natural gas, ultimately reducing greenhouse gas emissions and supporting the transition to cleaner energy sources”.
The projects are estimated to have an initial output of more than two million British thermal units of RNG annually.

By GlobalDataVision RNG aims to double this output within 11 years, potentially making it one of the largest RNG developments in the US.
The projects are set to reduce around 120,000 tonnes of fossil-based carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions each year, highlighting the environmental benefits of the initiative.
Vision RNG said the RNG produced will offer a cleaner energy alternative for end users aiming to reduce their carbon footprints.
The projected emissions reductions from these projects are equivalent to the CO₂ emissions from more than 12 million gallons of gasoline or 250,000 barrels of oil each year.
WIN Waste Innovations chief financial officer Doug Wilson said: “Converting landfill gases into RNG keeps them out of the atmosphere and provides a resource that is in much demand by the transportation sector.”
In May 2024, BP‘s Archaea Energy launched its largest RNG plant in Shawnee, Kansas, using its proprietary Archaea Modular Design to convert landfill gas into RNG.
