Norway-based TMC Compressors of the Seas (TMC) has received a contract from global FPSO provider Yinson to develop marine compressed air system for FPSO Anna Nery.
The value of the contract was not disclosed.
TMC sales and business development director Hans Petter Tanum said: “When you operate far from shore, you need powerful and reliable air supply onboard. Our marine compressed air systems have been designed solely for marine and offshore use.
“We never utilise compressors that have been developed for land-based applications and since marinised. We believe this approach has made us the favoured system provider for most FPSO operators.”
The equipment will be manufactured in Europe and delivered to Cosco Shipping Heavy Industry’s yard in Qidong, China.
The shipyard was contracted to convert the 308,900 dwt VLCC Falcon to Anna Nery.

By GlobalDataAfter the conversion, the FPSO will be capable of producing 70,000 barrels of oil and four million cubic metres of gas daily.
Yinson will charter and operate the vessel. It will be deployed approximately 150km off the Brazillian coast as part of the Marlim revitalisation project.
The FPSO is expected to start operations in 2023.
TMC is a supplier of compressed air systems that are used in the marine and offshore industries.
In September last year, TMC won a contract to supply a compressed air system to Golar LNG-owned Gimi floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) vessel.
Last June, TMC secured a contract from naval architecture and marine engineering company Vard to deliver the compressed air system for two cruise ships.
