TechnipFMC has received a contract from ExxonMobil affiliate Esso Exploration and Production Guyana (EEPGL) to deliver the engineering of the subsea system for the proposed Liza Phase 2 project in offshore Guyana.

Following engineering, TechnipFMC will manufacture and deliver the subsea equipment.

This is subject to receipt of relevant regulatory agreements, project sanction and an approval to proceed with the next phase of the project.

Under the terms of the contract, the company will deliver 30 enhanced vertical deepwater trees and associated tooling. In addition, TechnipFMC will provide eight manifolds and associated controls and tie-in equipment.

Located around 193km off the coast of Guyana on the Stabroek block, the Liza Phase 2 development is operated by EEPGL. The project is situated at water depths of 1,500m to 1,900m.

In August, EEPGL awarded a contract to Saipem to undertake detailed engineering, procurement, construction and installation of the risers, flowlines, and associated structures and jumpers for the project.

The second phase involves the addition of another floating, production, storage and offloading vessel (FPSO) and related subsea equipment, umbilical, risers and flowlines.

It is expected to have a production capacity of around 190,000 to 220,000 barrels of oil a day.

EEPGL is developing the Stabroek block in a joint venture with Hess Guyana Exploration and CNOOC Nexen Petroleum Guyana.
