Oil and gas company TechnipFMC has secured a “significant” contract from Angola-based oil and gas producer Azule Energy for the supply of subsea production systems for the Block 18 Infills development, offshore Angola.

Azule Energy is a 50-50 joint venture between bp and Italian company Eni.

Under the latest contract, TechnipFMC will reconfigure the existing field layout to accommodate new equipment to continue to support Azule’s plan to boost production.

The company will also be responsible for the designing and manufacturing of subsea trees, a manifold, subsea distribution equipment, topside controls, jumpers, flowlines and umbilicals.

TechnipFMC subsea president Jonathan Landes said: “Our deep knowledge of the existing installed base was key to securing this contract, and we are delighted to be supplying subsea production systems to Azule Energy as we further develop our relationship with this client.”

TechnipFMC terms a contract as “significant” if it is valued between $75m and $250m.

It is claimed to be first subsea production systems contract for TechnipFMC with Azule Energy.

This contract follows the one awarded to TechnipFMC in March 2023 for flexible pipe supply for Azule’s Agogo Integrated West Hub Development in block 15/06 offshore Angola.

In March 2023, Azule Energy selected Aveva’s cloud, software-as-a-service and digital twin technologies to transform its operations and optimise productivity.

With the deployment of Aveva’s technologies, Azule Energy intends to reduce costs, unlock new production opportunities, improve maintenance planning, augment team collaboration and facilitate remote operations.
