US-based oilfield services company Schlumberger has collaborated with TIBCO to integrate the latter’s Spotfire and Data Virtualisation technologies into the DELFI cognitive exploration and production (E&P) environment.

As part of the partnership, Schlumberger domain science applications would be augmented with new analytics capabilities, expanding DELFI environment user access to data virtualisation tools and analytical workflows.

The two companies will leverage their ongoing investments in digital innovation by jointly working on the development of descriptive and advanced analytics to deliver new insights into E&P data.

Schlumberger Software Integrated Solutions president Trygve Randen said: “Our collaboration with TIBCO is an important development in our commitment to embrace leading ideas and digital technologies.

“By combining advanced analytics with the deep scientific knowledge and expertise available in the DELFI environment, we’re enriching our petrotechnical platforms with powerful solutions available in the Cloud, to enhance our customers’ ability to drive operational performance.”

The TIBCO technologies will form a portion of the DELFI environment, which also includes the Schlumberger E&P application portfolio of petrotechnical platforms and Cloud-native solutions.

Last March, Schlumberger launched a new system to enable and monitor a well’s dynamic underbalance to create perforations that increase reservoir productivity.

In June 2017, Schlumberger formed a joint venture with Production Plus Energy Services to develop the latter’s HEAL System technology and business.
