Decommissioning services provider Petrodec has completed skidding operations for the topside removal of the Pickerill A unmanned platform.
The Pickerill gas field lies in the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS) in the block 48/11 licence area, approximately 65km away from the Theddlethorpe gas terminal in the North Sea.
After the plug and abandonment (P&A) campaign last year performed by the Energy Endeavour (ERDA) vessel, topside preparation, skidding, and rig move arrangements were completed on 13 June.
Meanwhile, the topside arrived safely at Vlissingen harbour in the Netherlands on 15 June.
Petrodec noted that the topside is expected to be soon offloaded for final dismantlement.
In a press statement, Petrodec said: “Prior to skidding, additional reinforcements were installed, and skid beams laid on the jack-up deck and underneath the topside. During skidding, load levels were carefully maintained on all supports while the topside was successfully skidded into position on the jack-up deck.
