Norway-based Vard is to design and construct a diving support and construction vessel for Singapore-based integrated offshore subsea services provider Kreuz Subsea group as part of a contract.
With a total length of 91.2m and a beam of 21.5m, the Vard 3 17 design vessel can perform diving support and specifics subsea construction duties.
Set to be delivered in the second quarter of 2017 from Vard Søviknes, the vessel has been designed by Vard Design in Ålesund, Norway.
According to Vard, hull construction of the DP2 class vessel will be carried out at Vard Tulcea in Romania.
With a 100t active heave compensated offshore crane, the vessel is prepared for remote operating vehicles (ROVs).
The diving system has the capacity to operate in water depths of up to 300m and features a single bell system for a maximum of 12 divers with its accommodation divided into three saturation living chambers.
