France-based Technip has received a contract worth $2.1bn from Brazil’s state-owned oil company Petrobras to supply some 1,400km of flexible pipes.

The deal includes manufacturing more than 150 types and diameters of risers, flow lines, as well as associated equipment and accessories.
Technip executive vice president and COO Frederic Delormel said: "This frame agreement reinforces our leadership in flexible pipes and the subsea industry overall, where we have a unique vertically integrated offer for our clients, combining a global footprint, proprietary R&D and technology, substantial engineering resources, manufacturing plants and a fleet of state-of-the-art vessels."
Deliveries in 2013 and under the agreement they will be spread over a period of five years and order intake recognition will progress upon confirmation of specific work orders.
Flexible pipes for the contract will be built at both Technip’s existing manufacturing facility in Vitoria, Brazil, and its second Brazilian manufacturing facility that is currently being built in Acu.
