Statoil and its partners are planning to develop the Snefrid Nord gas discovery near Aasta Hansteen field in the Norwegian Sea and expect it to come on-stream in late-2019.
This discovery will be linked to Aasta Hansteen.
The firms submitted a supplement to the plan for development and operation (PDO) of the Aasta Hansteen field, wherein the Snefrid Nord development plan was outlined to Norwegian authorities.
For the Snefrid Nord development, Aker Solutions will deliver the single-slot subsea template, a suction anchor, and umbilicals.
Aker Solutions is a supplier of subsea equipment for the Aasta Hansteen development. The company will deliver the subsea template and suction anchor, mooring it to the seabed at Sandnessjøen.

By GlobalDataSnefrid Nord and Aasta Hanste project director Torolf Christensen said: "We are pleased to see that Snefrid Nord generates spin-offs and activities at Helgelandskysten."
Aker Solutions will deliver the umbilicals in Moss.
Subsea 7 will deliver flowlines and spools besides carrying out all subsea installations. It is also the supplier for Aasta Hansteen.
Statoil expects to capture synergies by using the same supplier for both the projects.
All contracts are subject to approval from the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy.
Snefrid Nord was discovered in 2015 and has estimated recoverable gas reserves of around five billion cubic metres of gas.
The development plan of Snefrid Nord comprises one well in a single-slot subsea template, which will be tied-back to the Aasta Hansteen platform through the Luva template located 6km away.
Snefrid Nord is expected to produce around four million cubic metres of gas a day in the plateau phase. Its planned productive life is around five to six years.
The total capital expenditures for the Snefrid Nord development is around Nkr1.2bn ($143m).
Statoil senior vice-president for operations north Siri Espedal Kindem said: “Aasta Hansteen is a strategically important development as the platform and Polarled pipeline open a new area in the Norwegian Sea for gas exports to Europe.
"The projects also establish a new infrastructure, which will create opportunities for future field development projects in the area. Snefrid Nord is an excellent example of this."
