Russian firm Gazprom has received a survey permit for two stretches of the TurkStream gas pipeline's offshore section in the territorial waters of Turkey.
TurkStream is a new gas pipeline that runs from Russia to Turkey across the Black Sea from the Russkaya CS near Anapa to Kiyikoy village in the European region of Turkey.

It will also run through Luleburgaz to Ipsala on the border between Turkey and Greece.
Gazprom said that 660km of the offshore pipeline route will be laid within the old corridor of South Stream, and 250km within a new corridor towards the European part of Turkey.
The onshore gas pipeline section is set to stretch for 180km from the Black Sea coast of Turkey to the border between Turkey and Greece.
Gazprom Management Committee chairman Alexey Miller said: “The TurkStream project is progressing at commendable speed. We have received another important permit for the project.”

By GlobalDataGazprom and Botas Petroleum Pipeline in Turkey signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on 1 December 2014 to construct the gas pipeline.
TurkStream’s annual capacity will total 63 billion cubic metres of gas.
The offshore gas pipeline will comprise four strings with the capacity of 15.75 billion cubic metres each.
The first gas pipeline string is planned to be used exclusively for gas supplies to the Turkish market.
