Subsea services provider Bibby Offshore has received a further contract from Shell for inspection services on assets at Corrib Natural Gas field in the North Atlantic Ocean.
The first contract was completed in June, which involved Bibby Offshore performing subsea inspections 83km off the north-west coast of Ireland in water depths of approximately 360m.
It employed a construction support vessel Olympic Ares equipped with Quantum Work Class and SeaEye Cougar Inspection Class ROVs to accomplish the task.
The project took 40 days to complete, which included pipeline survey inspection work on an 83km-long, 20in gas pipeline with internal wellhead and manifold fault diagnostics.
Bibby also performed structural inspection and cathodic protection measurements to ensure optimum levels of productivity.
The successful completion of the first project fetched Bibby Offshore the second contract from Shell.
