Amec Foster Wheeler has secured a contract to design the Ras Markaz crude oil park project in Oman.
The contract with the Oman Tank Terminal Company (OTTCO) requires Amec Foster Wheeler to provide front-end engineering design for the project, which is located 70km south of the Port of Duqum on the Wusta Coast.
The project includes the phased development of a terminal designed to hold around 200 million barrels of crude oil.
Phase one of the project will hold about 25 million barrels of oil and is expected to be on stream by the end of 2018.
Amec Foster Wheeler Group President for Asia, Middle East, Africa & Southern Europe Roberto Penno said: "We have an excellent and long-standing reputation in Oman and are already working on other key investments in the country. We are delighted to be part of this strategic project."
OTTCO is a joint venture between Oman Oil Company and its downstream investment subsidiary, Takamul Investment Company.
