Exploration and development company Mosman Oil and Gas has announced that it is progressing work programme with respect to EP 145 situated in the Amadeus Basin in Northern Territory, Australia.

The current work programme on EP 145 involves 100km of 2D seismic surveys, seismic processing and interpretation and well planning.

Synterra Technologies was recently contracted to undertake work along with Mosman in completing field visits to assess the terrain and logistical requirements for a seismic survey.

Mosman plans to apply for an extension to its EP 145 permit to allow for more time to complete its current work programme.

The permit is due to expire on 21 August.

The company revealed that there can be no certainty that an extension will be granted. It is optimistic that the extension will be granted.

Mosman said in a statement: “Mosman is currently working closely with Synterra to finalise several submissions to obtain approvals required prior to proceeding with the acquisition of the seismic data.”

The company will continue to pursue farm-in discussions on EP 145 with potential joint venture (JV) partners to fund the current and ongoing work programme.

Mosman Oil and Gas chairman John Barr said: “We continue to progress work on EP 145 and look forward to the results of the Santos Dukas well in the near future as the outcome of this has relevance to the potential of this project.”

The company also said that operator Santos has resumed normal operations at the nearby Dukas exploration well after encountering mechanical issues that halted planned drilling activities. The operator will begin drilling the remaining section of the well.
