Modec, a Japanese supplier of offshore floating platforms, has placed an order for six centrifugal compressor trains with Man Energy Solutions.
The centrifugal compressor trains will be used for a floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) unit, which will be deployed on the Sangomar field offshore Senegal.
The machines will help in maintaining the pressure of the Sangomar field to optimise production.
The total order will include one low pressure (LP), three medium pressure (MP) and two high pressure (HP) centrifugal compressor trains, all powered by fixed speed electric motors.
Man Energy will design and manufacture the units at its Zurich facility in Switzerland. The machines are expected to be ready for installation in the fourth quarter of next year.
Man Energy Solutions Sales and Execution Upstream and Midstream vice-president Basil Zweifel: “We are honoured to have the opportunity to work with MODEC on this project within the emerging energy market of Senegal.
