US-based firm McDermott International has secured an engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) contract from Saudi Aramco for the Zuluf, Marjan, Berri and Abu Safah fields, offshore Saudi Arabia.
Under the contract, McDermott will provide 13 jackets in the fields with a combined weight of 24,000mt.
The contract represents the fourth fast-track project to be awarded by Saudi Aramco in the last two years.
McDermott International Middle East and Caspian vice-president Linh Austin said: “This award is testament to Saudi Aramco’s confidence in McDermott’s ability to execute fast-track projects on schedule and to the highest standards of delivery.
“Since 2001, McDermott has built and installed over 121 jackets for Saudi Aramco with a total weight of over 220,462t. Not only is McDermott able to meet the schedules of fast-track projects, but we consistently deliver them with outstanding safety performance.”
The company is said to have more than 50 years experience in providing services to the fields.

McDermott will undertake construction at McDermott’s facilities in Jebel Ali, Dubai and Dammam, Saudi Arabia.
Engineering work will be performed by the company’s teams based in Dubai and Chennai.
The company expects to record the contract in its first quarter 2018 backlog. Installation and completions will be carried out by vessels from McDermott’s global fleet.
