McDermott has been selected by Shell Global Solutions International for an enterprise framework agreement (EFA) covering engineering and procurement services.

The agreement spans three years, with options for two one-year extensions.

This EFA includes McDermott’s offerings across its Low Carbon Solutions, Offshore Middle East, and Subsea and Floating Facilities divisions.

The agreement will see McDermott utilise its global engineering centres and expertise to assist Shell in developing and executing feasibility and front-end engineering solutions.

McDermott executive vice-president and COO Maurizio Coratella said: “Our global execution model makes us the ideal partner to support Shell in the execution of their upcoming project portfolio.

“By combining our low-carbon engineering, procurement, construction and installation [EPCI] delivery, strategic partnerships, technology innovation, fabrication and offshore installation capacity, we have the agility to progress our joint journey to net zero while maintaining the highest standards of safety.”

McDermott’s long-standing relationship with Shell includes managing a portfolio of deep-water projects in the US Gulf of Mexico, Trinidad and Tobago, Western Australia and Malaysia.

Recently, McDermott completed the Kikeh subsea gas lift project in East Malaysia, awarded by PTTEP Sabah Oil in early 2024.

Completed ahead of schedule, the project involved replacing an existing gas lift riser and installing new components.

Additionally, McDermott was awarded a front-end engineering design (FEED) contract by Repsol Exploracion Mexico for the Polok and Chinwol field development in the Gulf of Mexico.

The project, part of the Mexico Block 29 in the Salina Basin, involves comprehensive FEED services for the EPCI of subsea, umbilicals, risers and flowlines.
