Denmark-based drilling rig operator Maersk Drilling has secured three consecutive contracts from TAQA Energy, Petrogas E&P Netherlands and Dana Petroleum Netherlands for the jack-up rig Maersk Resolute that operates in the Dutch sector, North Sea.
The deal with TAQA Energy will commence next month for the subsea plug and abandonment of three wells. It is expected to last for 60 days.
Meanwhile, the contract with Petrogas E&P Netherlands and Dana Petroleum Netherlands covers work-over and drilling activities, which can take approximately 70 days.
The contracts with TAQA Energy and Petrogas E&P Netherlands also include options for an additional 235 days that may be exercised in the second and third quarter of this year.
During its previous 104-day deal with Petrogas E&P Netherlands last year, Maersk Resolute is reported to have maintained ‘high-operational standards’ and a non-productive time (NPT) of less than 1.5%.
Maersk Drilling chief commercial and innovation officer Morten Kelstrup said: “As a new customer relationship, it is very rewarding that we can now continue our great collaboration and support Petrogas’ business by delivering safe and efficient drilling operations in the North Sea.

Set to begin at the end of the second quarter of this year, the contract extension is estimated to last for about 25 to 40 days.
