Seatrium has been awarded a contract by bp Exploration and Production for the engineering, procurement, construction, and onshore commissioning (EPC) of the Kaskida floating production unit (FPU) in the US Gulf of Mexico.
The greenfield development located around 250mi southwest of New Orleans in the Keathley Canyon area.
The Kaskida FPU is designed to support a single topside module on a four-column semi-submersible hull and is anchored by subsea production wells in waters approximately 6,000ft deep.
The FPU will have a production capacity of 80,000 barrels of crude oil per day from six wells upon completion of the first phase of the development.
Seatrium will integrate and lift the topsides for Kaskida onto the hull using its innovative Goliath twin cranes, which have a combined lifting capacity of 30,000t.
This approach ensures optimal readiness, reduces safety risks during topside assembly, and enhances overall project efficiency.

In November 2024, Seatrium achieved the early delivery of its latest newbuild jackup rig, Var, to Borr Drilling, nearly a year ahead of schedule.
Designed for deep well drilling both vertically and horizontally, this rig completes a series of five B Class jackup rigs delivered by Seatrium to Borr Drilling.
The first three rigs in the series, subsequently transferred by Borr Drilling to ADNOC Drilling, were delivered in 2022 and 2023. The fourth rig was delivered to Borr Drilling in August 2024.
