Iron Oak Energy Solutions has expanded its Permian Basin footprint through the acquisition of High Roller Sand.
High Roller operates a premier facility in Winkler County, Texas, known for its high-quality sand reserves.
This acquisition aligns with Iron Oak Energy’s strategy to enhance its service capabilities in the Midland and Delaware Basins.
The Permian Basin, accounting for more than half of US proppant demand, is experiencing growth due to increased proppant intensity and longer lateral wells.
High Roller’s facility, strategically located, produces up to four million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of proppant for regional oil and gas operators.
Iron Oak Energy CEO and president Michael Segura said: “As leading operators continue to consolidate in the Permian Basin, the addition of High Roller increases our supply capabilities and enhances our network to better serve the growing needs of our customers.
“This acquisition aligns with our disciplined growth plan to expand through additions of high quality and low-cost facilities that expand our reach and capabilities. Customers of both companies will benefit from our increased supply reliability and broader access to an expanded network of in-basin sand resources.”
With this acquisition, Iron Oak Energy now operates five large-scale facilities in the Permian Basin including four in Winkler County and one in Crane County, Texas.
Beyond the Permian, Iron Oak Energy has two in-basin facilities in the Eagle Ford Shale and two northern white sand facilities in Illinois and Wisconsin.
The northern white sand assets are integrated into Class 1 railroad systems, facilitating efficient product delivery across North America.
Post-acquisition, Iron Oak Energy’s total annual production capacity will increase to 34 million tonnes, reinforcing its position as a leading proppant producer.
High Roller executive vice-president Dave Frattaroli said: “We are excited to join the Iron Oak Energy team and look forward to providing our customers with more extensive options for a secure supply chain and providing our employees with diversified career growth opportunities.”
