Dutch global geological survey firm Fugro has secured a contract to support subsea well decommissioning performed by the semi-submersible Well-Safe Guardian.
The three-year contract was awarded by UK-based subsea well decommissioning specialist Well-Safe Solutions.
Under the contract scope, Fugro will provide remotely operated vehicle (ROV) services, rig positioning and remote operations for the decommissioning process.
All these services will be controlled by the company’s remote operations centre in Aberdeen, Scotland.
Fugro ROV service line director Kevin Chambers said: “I am delighted to announce this contract award with Well-Safe Solutions. Our teams’ skills and experience in plug and abandonment and the decommissioning of offshore wells perfectly complement the expertise of Well-Safe Solutions.
“We will also add value through our extensive knowledge of marine asset integrity.”
