Element Materials Technology has opened a new materials testing laboratory in Singapore to offer services for oil and gas sector Energy Performance Certificate contractors and fabricators across the Asia Pacific region.
The Element Singapore laboratory will provide specialised testing for metallurgical and fracture toughness.
The company claims that it has made significant investments to equip the lab with high-tech equipment in order to ensure that customers receive efficient service. The laboratory will employ 21 people.
It also added several baths to the laboratory for performing ASTM G48 corrosion testing, along with capabilities for coating testing, including cathodic disbondment testing.
The materials testing laboratory has capacity for indentation and impact testing, and the company further upgraded its sour service corrosion testing facilities with a new high-end scrubber system.
Element Materials Technology Oil & Gas and Infrastructure executive vice-president Rod Martin said: “Over the last few years, we have invested heavily in growing Element’s Oil & Gas testing presence globally, so we are very excited to have now opened our new Element Singapore laboratory.
