Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) importer and manufacturer UNIgas has reached a partnership agreement with supply chain visibility solutions provider ACSIS.

As part of strategic collaboration, ACSIS will offer solutions to UNIgas to optimise clean fuel filling, distribution and delivery to customers in Bangladesh.

ACSIS’ end-to-end product track and trace solution uses the company’s on-premise Internet of Things (IoT) Gateway and its cloud-based traceability services.

The solution is completely integrated with ACSIS’ enterprise system SAP S/4HANA IS O&G HPM that will enable UNIgas to track over four million radio frequency identification (RFID)-enabled LPG cylinders across the supply chain.

This solution assembles data in real-time to forecast demand, optimise production and proactively manage UNIgas distribution network.

Integrating RFID, barcode and mobile technologies, the solution enables complete traceability from the manufacturing phase until it reaches the end consumer.

UNIgas CEO Belal Ahmed said: “Competition in the LPG market here in Bangladesh is fierce. We needed to differentiate ourselves with superior track and trace capabilities.

“With ACSIS, we will have the reliability of an on-premise solution but with the speed and agility that the cloud can bring.”

Natural gas levels in Bangladesh are declining and many households and businesses are shifting towards LPG.

The LPG market in the country is expected to grow over the next five years.

ACSIS CEO Jeremy Coote said: “Our supply chain visibility solutions will help UNIgas optimise fleet management with sophisticated IoT and machine learning technologies.

“We look forward to helping the company deliver safe, clean fuel, improve customer service and seamlessly scale operations as they grow their business.”
