The upstream segment contracts in North America registered an increase of 28% with 254 contracts in Q1 2022, when compared with the previous quarter’s total of 199 contracts, according to GlobalData’s oil and gas contracts database.
A total of 254 contracts were registered in the upstream segment of North America during the quarter, when compared with the last four-quarter moving average of 193 contracts.
In terms of the number of contracts in North America, the upstream segment contributed the most with 254 contracts in Q1 2022, followed by midstream and downstream segments with 40 and 14 contracts, respectively.

Looking at the total oil and gas contracts by country in the upstream segment of North America, the US led the activity in Q1 2022 with 234 contracts and a 92% share. It saw an increase of 34% over the previous quarter’s total of 174 contracts and an increase of 38% when compared with the last four-quarter-average of 170 contracts in the US.
