Oil and gas contracts in Africa registered a decrease of 22% in November 2021 with 18 contracts, when compared with 23 contracts in the previous month, according to GlobalData’s oil and gas contracts database.
The activity marked a decrease of 36%, when compared with the last 12-month average of 28 contracts.
Contract award activity in Africa during November 2021
Looking at contracts by country, Egypt led the activity in November 2021 with six contracts representing a 33% share of all the oil and gas contracts, followed by Nigeria with three contracts and a 17% share and South Africa with one contract and a 6% share. It saw an increase of 500% over the previous month’s total of one contract and an increase of 20% when compared with the last 12 month-average five contracts in Egypt.
Based on 12-month moving average, Egypt took the top spot with five contracts, followed by Angola and Nigeria with four contracts each.
