Contracts in the LNG segment registered an increase in activity by 3% in Q4 2021 with a total of 38 contracts, when compared with the previous quarter’s total of 37 contracts, according to GlobalData’s oil and gas contracts database.

A total of 38 contracts were registered in the LNG liquefaction and regasification segment globally during the quarter, when compared with the last four-quarter moving average of 42 contracts.

LNG Liquefication sub-segment reported 32 contracts, representing 78% of the total 41 LNG contracts, followed by nine contracts in the LNG regasification sub-segment.

Asia-Pacific took the top position with 13 contracts and a 34% share of the total LNG contracts globally in Q4 2021, followed by Europe and North America with 12 (32%) and 10 (26%) contracts, respectively.

During the quarter, the majority of contracts in the LNG segment were awarded in the design & engineering with 16 contracts, followed by procurement and operations & maintenance with 15 and 12 contracts, respectively.
