Singapore’s oil & gas industry registered a 5.3% rise in IT hiring activity in June 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 3.87% in June 2022 when compared with May 2022.

Out of the oil & gas industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 8.62% share in June 2022, recording an increase of 1.34% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Singapore’s oil & gas industry’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Singapore’s oil & gas industry in June 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 41.03% in June 2022, registering a 33.33% growth over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 35.9% share, an increase of 55.56% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 10.26%, registering a 33.33% rise from May 2022.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 10.26%, down 42.86% over the previous month.

Top five oil & gas companies in Singapore’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 29.17% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Singapore’s oil & gas industry during June 2022 over May 2022.

Yara International posted 15 IT jobs in June 2022 and registered a rise of 66.67% over the previous month, followed by Keppel with 8 jobs and a 33.33% growth. Exxon Mobil with 6 IT jobs and BP with 1 jobs, recorded a 14.29% decline and a flat growth, respectively, while Chevron recorded a decline of 50% with 1 job postings during June 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 71.79%, up by 33.33% from May 2022. Mid Level positions with a 17.95% share, registered a decline of 30% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 10.26% share, up 33.33% over May 2022.
