IT jobs accounted for a 4.49% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in October 2022, registering an increase of 0.21% over the last three-month average share.
Database and Network Administrators and Architects Occupations leads by classification in October 2022
Database and Network Administrators and Architects Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 28.57% in October 2022, a 41.67% drop over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in next, claiming a share of 24.49% in October 2022, marking a 20% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers with a share of 18.37% in October 2022, a flat growth from September 2022.

Sasol posted 8 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered an increase of 300% over the previous month, followed by Saudi Arabian Oil with 6 jobs and a 72.73% drop. Baker Hughes with 6 IT jobs and Worley with 5 jobs, recorded a 50% rise and a 400% rise, respectively, while TotalEnergies recorded a flat growth with 4 job postings during October 2022.

Saudi Arabia commanded a leading presence in the region’s oil & gas industry IT hiring activity with a 30.61% share in October 2022, a 40% decrease over September 2022. South Africa featured next with a 20.41% share, up 233.33% over the previous month. Qatar recorded a 10.2% share, a drop of 16.67% compared with September 2022.
