The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 4.18% in May 2022 when compared with April 2022.
Out of the oil & gas industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 11.68% share in May 2022, recording an increase of 2.03% over the last three-month average share.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 23.53% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Malaysia’s oil & gas industry during May 2022 over April 2022.
BASF posted 20 IT jobs in May 2022 and registered a rise of 100% over the previous month, followed by Schlumberger with 2 jobs and a 50% drop. Evonik Industries with 2 IT jobs and Shell with 1 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 94.12% decrease, respectively, while PPG Industries recorded a flat growth with 1 job postings during May 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in May 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 48.15%, down by 53.57% from April 2022. Mid Level positions with a 48.15% share, registered an increase of 8.33% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 3.7% share, flat growth over April 2022.
