Adnoc Gas Processing, a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc), has awarded a $700m contract to Petrofac, a London-listed oil and gas services provider.
The engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract, which was awarded to Petrofac Emirates, is for a new gas compressor plant at Adnoc Gas Processing’s Habshan Complex.
The new plant, which consists of three gas compressor trains, related utilities, and power systems, is expected to enable Adnoc to significantly boost gas output from the Habshan Complex located west of Abu Dhabi.
Petrofac group chief executive Tareq Kawash said: “We are thrilled to have been selected by Adnoc, one of Petrofac’s longest-standing customers, to undertake this significant new EPC project in our home market of the UAE.
“We very much look forward to working together with Adnoc to safely and sustainably develop this critical energy resource.”
Petrofac engineering and construction chief operating officer Elie Lahoud said: “Petrofac has a long and strong track record supporting Adnoc in the UAE, rooted in our steadfast commitment to maximising local delivery, investing in the local supply chain, and developing local teams.
