GlobalData’s latest analysis of US natural gas production expects the country’s production to grow to 86 billion cubic feet per day (bcfd) by 2021.

Exxon Mobil Corporation will drive the gas production with 3.5% share of US gas production in 2021. EQT Corporation will follow with 3.3%. By 2021, the US will have 871 producing gas projects, as well as 764 oil projects that will produce associated gas.

The US is expected to spend $190.3bn as capex on conventional and unconventional gas projects during 2018 to 2021, with spending topping out in 2018 at $45.7bn. The average full-cycle capex per barrel of oil equivalent for the US conventional gas projects is $8.30. The value is higher for unconventional gas projects, at $18.50 per boe.
