Oman’s national energy holding company OQ has awarded a package known as ‘Station C’, which is part of the Bisat early oil production facility project, to US oil and gas contractor Exterran Corporation.
The contract is estimated to be worth about $80m, and workers have already been mobilised, according to information first obtained by regional projects tracker MEED Projects.
The four-year contract has the option to be extended for one additional year. Construction is expected to be completed within 21 months.
The contract will use the design-build-own-operate-maintain (DBOOM) model.
The contract was originally tendered in May 2020, but the tender process saw significant delays.

Contractors submitted expressions of interest (EoI) for the package on 12 March 2020.
The project aims to process and treat a minimum of 330,000 barrels a day (b/d) of gross reservoir fluids.
This will be made up of 300,000 b/d of produced water treatment capacity and 30,000 b/d of crude oil processing capacity.
The project also includes the treatment of produced water to required disposal specifications and pumping of produced water to designated disposal water wells at the required injection pressure after treatment.
The Bisat early production facility project includes plans for three separate stations.
The other two are known as Station A and Station B.
The contract for Station A was awarded to Schlumberger in January 2019 and was completed earlier this year.
The contract for Station B was also awarded to Schlumberger in 2020 and execution is currently under way.
