The findings come from the group’s 47-page report entitled “H1 2019 Production and Capital Expenditure Outlook for Key Planned and Announced Upstream Projects in Southeast Asia – Indonesia and Malaysia Lead in Oil and Gas Production”.

Among the crude and natural gas operations, 25 represent the number of planned projects with identified development plans and 29 represent the number of early-stage announced projects that are undergoing conceptual studies and that are expected to get approved for development.

Key projects in Southeast Asia are expected to contribute about 223 thousand barrels of oil per day (mbd) of global crude production and about 8.1 billion cubic feet per day (bcfd) of global gas production in 2025.

Indonesia and Malaysia will contribute around 80% of the region’s total crude production in 2025. Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Myanmar collectively account for rest of the crude and condensate production.
