A consortium led by Larsen & Toubro subsidiary L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering (LTHE) has won an award for two projects from Saudi Aramco.

The award consists of engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) orders for three oil production deck manifolds and subsea pipelines in Saudi Aramco’s Zuluf and Berry fields. This project will be built at L&T’s flagship Hazira facility in Gujarat, India, the first of the Indian multi-national’s three fabrication yards.

This is the fifth award for the consortium, and ‘provides for significant project pipeline’ for the firms, according to L&T. There are currently four offshore contracts under execution by the consortium for Saudi Aramco under their long-term agreement, with two EPCI contracts for LTHE being awarded by Saudi Aramco in January 2017.

The consortium said in a press release: “Over the past three decades, LTHE has served the offshore oil and gas industry with consistent delivery that brings oil majors and national oil companies to place repeat orders on LTHE for challenging projects.”

The consortium did not share the value of the contracts, but added that they were indicative of LTHE’s ‘strong track record in the Middle East’.

LTHE is an Indian multinational organisation that provides EPCI solutions for the offshore oil and gas industry. It operates in more than 30 countries, generating revenue of approximately $30bn. LTHE’s partner in the consortium is engineering, construction and services company Subsea 7.
