Petrofac’s Engineering & Production Services (EPS) division has secured a contract from Sharjah National Oil Corporation (SNOC) for a project in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Under the $40m contract, Petrofac will provide engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) services for the project.

Petrofac noted that the contract defines delivery against EPS’ strategy to secure smaller greenfield, as well as brownfield EPC projects using its footprint and infrastructure in existing markets.

Petrofac EPS East managing director Mani Rajapathy said: “We are delighted to be awarded this contract by Sharjah National Oil Corporation, a longstanding Petrofac client that we have worked with successfully for many years.

“The award is important strategically as EPS looks to develop its track record in smaller greenfield and brownfield EPC projects. It also leverages Petrofac’s best-in-class expertise and experience in upstream gas and represents another win in one of our core markets of Sharjah and the UAE.”

Since 1991, the company has been operating in the UAE. It employs more than 3,000 people in the country, with many of them based at its operational centre in Sharjah.

In November, Petrofac signed an agreement to acquire W&W Energy Services, a provider of infrastructure services to oil producers. The agreement refers to Petrofac’s acquisition of an entry-level position in the US onshore operations and maintenance market.

The company also secured contracts from clients in Oman and Libya to provide front-end engineering design (FEED) and conceptualisation studies.
