Esri and Open Systems International (OSI) have entered a strategic collaboration to offer advanced geographic information system (GIS) capabilities and real-time monitoring to their joint clients in the utility sector.

The partnership will enable the companies’ customers in the field of electric, gas, and water utility industries access Esri’s ArcGIS Utility Network Management and OSI’s monarch operational technology (OT) platform.

The monarch platform of the automation solutions provider is similar to a control system architecture, which enables utilities to support, monitor, control and optimise network operations that are complex.

It is also used in industrial, large-scale Internet of Things (IoT) applications and microgrids.

The strategic partnership will enable a seamless transition in technology and enhanced usability to the joint customers.

OSI president and CEO Bahman Hoveida said: “Many of our utility customers are adopting new Esri technology such as ArcGIS Utility Network Management, which provides advanced network modelling capability.
