JGC has secured a JPY60bn ($508m) contract from Petronas to expand the facilities at its liquefied natural gas (LNG) complex in Bintulu, Sarawak, Malaysia.
The contract includes engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) work related to the expansion of LNG storage and shipping facilities.
The LNG complex has eight production trains with a combined capacity of 25.7 million tonnes per annum.
JGC will build piping and related plants linking the existing six LNG storage tanks and the seventh new LNG storage tank with the shipping facilities.
It includes piping connecting the LNG rundown lines from the existing LNG trains with the LNG rundown line from the ninth LNG train, which is under construction.
The company is also completing renovation work on the fourth, fifth and sixth LNG trains.
