Searcher Seismic and BGP have commenced the 2015 GroupSeis campaign over the North West Shelf, Western Australia.
The Searcher Seismic developed concept GroupSeis aims to offer clients with a solution for the environmental approval, acquisition and processing of small to medium-sized seismic surveys.
Currently, the campaign includes the acquisition of three individual broadband seismic surveys with further additions being planned for the last time-slots of this year.
The campaign includes the 437km² Quoll 3D seismic survey in the Bonaparte Basin and the 500km Dunnart 2D seismic survey, which covers the Jansz gas discovery and the 146km² Numbat 3D survey.
The Dunnart and Numbat surveys are located in the Carnarvon Basin.
Searcher Seismic global sales manager Rachel Masters said: "Logistically the GroupSeis campaigns can be quite challenging to arrange; however, with increased vessel utilisation, reduced environmental impact and some major cost savings to be had, the benefits are significant for all involved and our clients and project partners are supporting the concept 100%."
