Bul Hanine

Qatar Petroleum has signed an agreement with Air Energi to supply contract personnel to support the company’s $11bn development project at the Bul Hanine oil field.

Under the five-year agreement, which has a two-year extension option, Air Energi will source personnel across various disciplines, including engineering, construction and health, safety, environment and quality.

The company will supply a peak number of staff in 2017, once detailed design and construction begins.

The Bul Hanine redevelopment project is located 120km from Qatar’s east coast and has been designed to double production rates at the offshore field.

Qatar Petroleum plans to drill an additional 150 wells at the field through to 2028 from both existing and new well-head jackets.

"One of the main challenges of this project will be sourcing the calibre of personnel required with specific experience in offshore redevelopment projects."

As part of the project, existing offshore production facilities will be replaced and upgraded, in addition to developing a new onshore natural gas to liquids processing plant in Mesaieed.
