Aqualis Offshore has been selected to provide position maintaining services for the installation of the $34bn Ichthys LNG project floating production storage and offloading (FPSO).
Ichthys gas and condensate field operated by Inpex is located in the Browse Basin, 220km offshore from Western Australia.
The 336m-long FPSO vessel is planned to be permanently moored on a non-disconnectable turret for the entire project life, 3.5km from the field’s central processing facility (CPF).
Services will be offered by the company as a sub-supplier to POSH Terasea Offshore, which will manage the towage of the vessel from the Okpo yard of Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering in South Korea to the Ichthys field.
The project will be managed and carried out by Aqualis’ Singapore office.
Aqualis Offshore director – Asia Pacific Phil Lenox told media sources: "Managing the position keeping operation for floating facilities is one our core competencies.
