Polarcus has received a letter of intent (LoI) from an undisclosed client to carry out an additional broadband 3D marine seismic survey in offshore South America.
The company plans to begin the project during the fourth quarter of this year and will continue it for three months.
Polarcus North and South America senior vice-president Richard Price said: "This award is very significant for Polarcus as it dovetails perfectly with previously announced projects we are acquiring offshore South America, extending our campaign for another three months through Q4 2016 and maximising our fleet utilisation by minimising transit time between surveys."
Separately, Polarcus has also secured a letter of intent (LoI) for an XArray project in the Norwegian-Barents Sea.
The survey is to be carried out for an undisclosed client is set to begin in August this year.
Prior to this, the company needs to obtain required authorisation. The survey will run for about four weeks.
