TGS, an energy data and intelligence provider, has formed a partnership with Aker BP to digitalise the Yggdrasil oil and gas area.

The collaboration aims to enhance field operations through the integration of advanced technology.

It expands on the existing cooperation between TGS and Aker BP, with a particular emphasis on leveraging TGS’ Prediktor Data Gateway.

This integration into Aker BP’s digital ecosystem for Yggdrasil is expected to serve as a process data server.

Aker BP aims to pioneer a new standard in field operations at Yggdrasil, including remotely controlled operations, unmanned production platforms and data-driven decision-making.

The Prediktor Data Gateway is expected to play a pivotal role in this transformation by providing data that enhances control and supports improved decision-making through real-time data from OT systems.

TGS said the Prediktor Data Gateway’s design is tailored to meet the specific requirements of Yggdrasil, offering scalable solutions that can evolve alongside the needs of Aker BP.

TGS EVP of new energy solutions Carel Hooijkaas said: “We are excited to deepen our relationship with Aker BP through this strategic partnership. The Prediktor Data Gateway offers unique flexibility and efficiency, representing a new frontier in field operations. We look forward to its impact on the Yggdrasil area.

“This collaboration reflects our commitment to driving innovation in the energy sector and supporting our partners in achieving operational excellence.”

Earlier in June, Aker BP, along with its partners, made an oil discovery near the Yggdrasil field offshore Norway.

This followed the drilling of appraisal wells 25/2-24 S, A, B, and C in production licence 873.

Aker BP holds a 47.7% operatorship stake, with Equinor at 40% and PGNiG Upstream Norway at 12.3%.

In a separate development in July, Aker BP announced a collaboration with SLB, an energy industry technology provider, to co-develop an AI-driven digital platform.

This long-term partnership seeks to expedite innovation and enhance efficiency across Aker BP’s exploration and production operations.
