A monthly review of worldwide oil and gas contract activity in August has revealed that majority of the contracts were focused in the EMEA region, according to a report by GlobalData.
Titled 'Monthly Oil & Gas Industry Contracts Review – Upstream and Midstream Contracts Activity Concentrated in the EMEA Region', the report provides details of the contracts and tenders in the global oil and gas industry during August categorised as region, sector and geographies. The report also provides details of oil and gas contracts between 2015 and 2016.

Major contracts awarded during August included the $652.62m four-year contract for Noble from Statoil for the Noble Lloyd jack-up rig for offshore operations in the UK. The second major contract included the $1.09bn contract for Stroytransgaz from Gazprom for the construction of a 254.7km section of the Power of Siberia gas pipeline from Saldykelskaya compressor station to Olekminskaya in Russia.
Between last September and this August, the top contractors were Hyundai Engineering & Construction and KOGAS with contracts totalling $5.86bn in value. Gazprom and Statoil were the top issuers during the period with contracts worth $7.57bn and $5.79bn respectively.
Operations and maintenance contracts were the major type of contracts issued during August with a share of 47%. Other type of contracts for design and engineering, procurement, operations and maintenance, and construction and installation accounted for 18%.
