Qatar-based logistics company GWC Group has created a new subsidiary, GWC Energy, to provide bespoke solutions for offshore and onshore oil and gas operations.
GWC Energy will provide integrated shipping, logistics and marine services solutions to clients across the world, ZAWYA reported.
It will enable GWC to expand its operations as it aims to become the preferred choice for energy projects in Qatar and beyond.
Currently, GWC operates more than 380,000m² of infrastructure for the energy sector in Ras Laffan and Mesaieed industrial cities in Qatar.
GWC Group CEO Ranjeev Menon said: “The formation of GWC Energy highlights our commitment to clients in the energy sector. We have built up extensive experience in this area, working with clients in Qatar and around the world.

The new company aligns with the goals of the Tawteen in-country-value initiative, a national programme established to localise the supply chain for the energy sector in Qatar.
Some of the key objectives of Tawteen include establishing domestic suppliers to meet the requirements of the energy sector, and supporting the growth and diversification of the country’s economy.
GWC Energy provides services such as equipment, manpower, marine logistics, supply base management, warehousing, bunker supply, as well as rig mobilisation and demobilisation support.
It provides onshore, offshore and tanker agency services, in addition to documentation and customs support.
